Wedding Hairstyles: The Half Updo

The 43rd Annual CMA Awards - Arrivals

If you can’t decide between long flowing locks or a chic updo for your wedding day, then wearing your hair in a “half updo” gives you the best of both worlds. One of the most popular styles among brides and bridesmaids, the half updo let’s you keep some length and body in your hairstyle, without pesky peices in the front to worry about. There is also a ton of versatility, as you can see from the examples below.

Jennifer Love Hewitt is rocking a bouffant half updo with a sleeker look. This would be great for an evening reception.

This braided look from The Knot has a chic boho feel (plus it is great for ladies who are growing out their bangs!).

Pulling your hair away from your face gives a youthful look, while the bumped up crown keeps it from being too schoolgirl. And the cascading curls? To die for.

Another look from Diana Agron shows the versatility of the half updo, with a totally vintage vibe.

Lauren Conrad pairs mermaid waves with a slightly teased crown for a subtle style.

Imperfect waves look fab on Molly Sims. This look would be great for a beach wedding.
