Wedding Dress Inspiration from the Big Screen
When a movie script includes a wedding scene, Hollywood often calls on the big name wedding dress designers to create custom confections to make us swoon. Here are some recent beauties from the big screen to inspire you on your wedding dress search.
Sex and the City
This avant garde Vivienne Westwood wedding dress is not an easy one to pull off, with the exaggerated neckline and full skirt, but as Carrie Bradshaw in the Sex and the City movie, Sarah Jessica Parker is stunning!
Bride Wars
Kate Hudson and Anne Hathaway’s characters opt for two totally different, but equally stunning, Vera Wang wedding dresses in Bride Wars. Anne’s dress is timeless elegance at it’s best, with the off the shoulder neckline and fit and flare style, while Kate’s is princess perfection with the tulle ballgown skirt, cathedral length veil and lavender ribbon sash.
Twilight
Twi-hards went crazy for Bella Swan’s Carolina Herrera wedding dress, worn for her wedding to vampire Edward. The column gown featured long sleeves, an illusion back with lace accents and a row of tiny buttons all the way down the back.
The Vow
Rachel McAdams showed off her unique style in The Vow with a short, blush wedding dress with organza flower embellishment designed by Betsey Johnson. We love the look if you can get past the cupcake veil!
Legally Blonde 2
Reese Witherspoon’s iconic character Elle Woods tied the knot in Legally Blonde 2 this simple blush Reem Acra gown. I love the ruching at the waist and flowing skirt.
Ghosts of Girlfriends Past
While this movie may not have been the most memorable, Jennifer Garner’s Manual Mota gown is! From the delicate lace, strapless neckline and drop waist, the look is classic and beautiful.
What are some of your favorite wedding dresses from the movies?

I LOVE your dress, and veil! Is the veil also Vera? I’d like to look for something similar for my upcoming wedding.
Thanks for sharing your gorgeous pics!
Thanks so much Caitlin! The veil is actually from Bella Bleu Bridal – it is the Lauren veil by Sara Gabriel. They have a number of great veils that are reasonably priced!

Love this!!!! Any idea as to how much this dress is?
Hi there, You’ve done an incredible job. I will certainly digg it and in my opinion suggest to my friends. I am sure they will be benefited from this web site.
You looked beautiful! Did you wear spanx or something under the dress? I am also going to wear a mermaid and i dont know what to wear underneath since the spanx i have seen are too short or have some seams that can show through.
Thanks
Thanks Ana! Spanx didn’t work with this dress because of those pesky seams that showed through in the middle. I found a similar “shaper” that was completely seamless and went up to the bottom of my bust at Saks Fifth Avenue. I would recommend going to a department store and trying on a few different brands to see what fits best and doesn’t have seams. Good Luck!
I believe that is among the so much significant info for me. And i am happy reading your article. But should observation on few common things, The web site style is wonderful, the articles is in reality nice : D. Good activity, cheers
